Front Runners Fall Invitational

Front Runners Fall Invitational Registration

San Francisco FrontRunners
Scoring for 5 Teammates: Points are awarded to the individual runners of eligible teams, equal to the position in which they cross the finish line (first place gets 1 point, second place gets 2 points, etc.). The points for these runners are summed, and the lowest score wins. Individual athletes, and athletes from incomplete teams (teams consisting of less than 5 athletes or teams) and individuals who have been disqualified are excluded from scoring. Ties are usually broken by the position of each team's sixth runner.

Scoring for less than 5 Teammates: TBD; we’re waiting to get an accurate understanding of how many individuals register for all of the Divisions to create a plan for scoring teams of less than 5.

Submitting Times: All submitted times must be supported by GPS data synced via Strava or Garmin. All runs must be recorded on “Race” mode or must show elapsed time (as opposed to moving time).

Rules of the Road and Assumption of Risk: Runners are expected to follow all traffic laws, park regulations, and obey appropriate social distancing requirements during their runs. Running may be considered a potentially dangerous activity, and anyone who attempts this challenge assumes all risks associated with participation. Additionally, all runners should carry a face mask at all times and use it when approaching others. If you are not comfortable accepting these risks, please do not attempt this challenge.

Course Requirements: No more than 50 feet total elevation loss for each distance each week (use a "Loop" course!)

Contact Info: If you have any questions, please reach out to racedirector@sffr.org

San Francisco FrontRunners invites you and your club to join the Front Runners Fall Invitational; a month-long XC-style running competition. Walkers are encouraged to join too! Each week all competitors will run/walk a different distance and submit their times for the leaderboard (more on submitting times and scoring info below).

This virtual race series aims to bring us together as clubs during a time when in-person events are on hiatus in most of our cities. We encourage all runners of all abilities to participate and compete for their local Front Runners club. A portion of money from each registration will support LGBTQIA+ organizations; clubs which end the month as Division Winners will choose the charities we donate to. Register now and get ready for the first week of competition which starts October 18th!

Each week, participants run a different distance:
Week 1 (Oct 18 - Oct 24) - 5K
Week 2 (Oct 25 - Oct 31) - 5 Mile
Week 3 (Nov 1 - Nov 7) - 1 Mile
Week 4 (Nov 8 - Nov 14) - 15K
