About the Race
This event is set in Almaden Quicksilver park, in the beautiful hills of Almaden Valley. It’s comprised of 60% dirt roads, 40% single track, and is very hilly, with great views, awesome countryside. In a nutshell: It’s challenging and very fun.

Course Information & Maps
5k
- Course Ascent: 722 feet.
- Race Bibs: Runners will have black-numbered bibs on a white background.
- Ribbons/Aid Stations:
- Follow yellow ribbons on course for a single large counterclockwise loop.
- Then follow red ribbons as directed by staff to complete a mini clockwise loop to FINISH 5k.
- Aid/Water Available at the start/finish area before and after the 5k loop course.
10k
- Course Ascent: 1,434 feet.
- Race Bibs: Runners will have black-numbered bibs on a white background.
- Ribbons/Aid Stations:
- Follow yellow ribbons on course for a large counterclockwise loop.
- Then follow red ribbons as directed by staff to complete a mini clockwise loop as directed by staff.
- Now back at the Mockingbird Parking Lot Aid start/finish, complete a large clockwise loop following yellow ribbons
- Then another mini clockwise loop following red ribbons as directed by staff to FINISH 10k.
- Aid/Water Available at the start/finish area mid-run after the first loop, and again at finish.
8 Mile
- Course Ascent: 2,162 feet.
- Race Bibs: Runners will have black-numbered bibs on a white background.
- Ribbons/Aid Stations:
- Follow pink ribbons for 4 miles to the Hacienda Parking Lot Aid Station. Then reverse and follow same pink ribbons for 4 miles back to FINISH 8 Miler at the Mockingbird Parking Lot Aid Station.
Half Marathon – Course cutoff 12:30pm (4.5 hr time limit)
- Course Ascent: 3,471 feet.
- Race Bibs: Runners will have red-numbered bibs on a white background.

- Stage 1 (Mile 0 to Mile 4.0) – Follow pink ribbons for 4 miles to the Hacienda Parking Lot Aid Station

Distances to Aid Stations
All distances, other than those shorter than the Half Marathon, will hit the Hacienda Aid Station and Start / Finish Aid Station at every 3 to 4 mile interval throughout the course.
Aid Stations / Water Stop Info
There are two fully stocked aid stations. Most runners will encounter these multiple times depending on their race distance.
Aid Stations:
1. Mockingbird Parking Lot Aid Station-All Distances (Start/Finish)
2. Hacienda Parking Lot Aid Station (8 Mile, Half Marathon, 30K, Trail Marathon, 50K)
Course will be marked with the following info below.
- Gypsum direction arrows and distances. The written word NO means Do Not Enter.
- Signs with distances, direction arrows. Please stop and read signs carefully.
- All ribbons are attached to trees/bushes with wooden clothespins. Other ribbons are not ribbons for this race.
Drop Bag Service – 30K, Trail Marathon and 50K only
- Drop Bags will have a designated area for runners to access at the Mockingbird Parking Lot Aid Station Start/Finish line.
- Staff will collect runner drop bags before the race start to take to the Hacienda Parking Lot Aid Station. These will be available for runners during their race, and staff will return them to Mockingbird after the race.

- Two locations to see runners by driving up to Aid Stations. Refer to each race category course description to see how many times your runner will encounter each location.

All Parking for this event will be at the Almaden Neighborhood Church, a short 0.3 mile walk down the street from the start line:

We are very thankful for the Almaden Neighborhood Church, Pastor Jordan and his team, for graciously allowing us to use their parking for this event. It would not be possible for us to host otherwise.
Runners, please show the church your appreciation by turning down your music prior to arrival, not loitering or remaining in their parking area any longer than necessary after you have parked, and not leaving any trash or refuse on the church grounds.
ALSO, VERY IMPORTANT: Please be respectful of the neighborhood and Do Not Park on Mockingbird Hill Lane, Gold Creek Way or any residential neighborhood street. We thank you for your cooperation and it is imperative to helping ensure we will continue to be permitted to put on these events.
Toilets
All of the toilets are available at the start/finish line. They are first-come first-served, so please be respectful of other runners waiting for and needing to use the toilets. These are the only toilets, so please arrive early.

All finishers will receive a medal.
